On Saturday 11/15/2008 from 9am to 1pm there will be a workshop at Georgia Tech on the new control system for the FIRST robot we will start building in January. The workshop is focused on electrical installation and programming of National Instrument's cRio microprocessor assembly. The cRio can be programmed with either National Instrument's software LabView or via C software. Both methods will be discussed and demonstrated at the workshop.
If you would like to go, please let me know and we will get you there. Mr. Gardner Chambliss and I plan on attending. We need team members to attend and support these areas in constructing our robot. More information is available at http://www.robojackets.org/?p=205 |

Saturday 12/13/08 in Auburn, AL Sadly, we didn't advance to this competition, but we can still go. Just as the Lego League needs us, so does BEST. We can go an serve as volunteers and run the competition. We have done this in the past when we were not competing serving as pit coordinators, liaisons to judges and game referees and as judges, referees, robot inspectors, etc. Again, community service hours can be earned, besides having an opportunity to see the best of the BEST (robots). You need to get a permission form for this. See Mr. Wolfe. If you need additional information, please stop by and see me. |

Support LEGO League Robotics |

Saturdays 11/22/08 and 12/6/08 We have been asked to help support and run a Lego League robotic scrimmage (11/22/08 and tournament (12/6/08). We have done this in the past as a community service and as a team recruitment effort. It gives the Grady Gearbox Gangstaz tremendous name recognition and supports the robotic program in the metro Atlanta area. In turn, we receive support with our programs technical and occasionally financially.
If you can only do one, the tournament (12/6/08) needs the most support. Please stop by and fill out a volunteer form. Grady community service hours can be earned with this. |
